Terms and Conditions for BasePals
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using BasePals, you accept and agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree to these terms, please refrain from using BasePals.
2. Eligibility
- BasePals is designed specifically for the U.S. military community. This includes serving members, DoD civilians, and their family members.
- Users must be at least 13 years of age to register. Accounts of users under 18 are designated as minor accounts and can only interact with other minor accounts.
- While the platform aims to serve members of the military U.S. community and their associates, we do not guarantee all users are from this category.
3. Registration and Account Information
- Users are required to provide a valid email or phone number for account creation.
- Public-facing profiles will display user photos, but no other Personally Identifiable Information (PII) is allowed.
- BasePals reserves the right to remove or edit any content that violates this provision.
4. No Verification of Military Affiliation BasePals does not currently have a verification system to confirm a user’s association with the military. This feature may be integrated if the app grows large enough to warrant these costs. in the interim, users are encouraged to exercise due diligence and follow safety guidelines when interacting with others.
5. User Conduct
- Users are required to provide accurate information during registration.
- Users are required to respect the privacy and safety of other users.
- Users should not practice any form of harassment, discrimination, or hateful conduct.
- Users should refrain from posting any PII other than what is expressly allowed.
6. Safety and Interactions
- BasePals does not conduct background checks on users. It’s crucial for members to always prioritize their safety.
- Always meet in public places and inform a trusted individual about your whereabouts when meeting someone from the app.
- We strongly recommend the first meeting be on a military installation so that installation access can be confirmed.
- We ask that you report suspicious behavior or misuse of the app to our team.
7. Content and Copyright Policy
- Users are solely responsible for their content. BasePals does not claim ownership.
- Posting content that violates copyright, trademark, or other intellectual property rights is prohibited.
8. Account Moderation and Termination
- BasePals randomly and manually moderates accounts to ensure adherence to these terms.
- We reserve the right to terminate or suspend any account without notice if there are violations.
- Users can delete their accounts at any time.
9. Disclaimers
- BasePals is provided “as is”, without warranties, either express or implied.
- No guarantee exists that members are exclusively part of the military community.
10. Limitation of Liability
BasePals shall not be liable for any loss or damage resulting from the use of the app or from interactions between its users.
11. Governing Law
Given the international use of BasePals, disputes will be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the state of Nebraska, USA, irrespective of the user’s location.
12. Amendments We reserve the right to modify these Terms and Conditions. Continued use of BasePals after changes signifies your acceptance of the updated terms.
